Lt. Gov. to Promote Emergency Preparedness during Weekend Husker Events

Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy will be among those encouraging Nebraskans to develop emergency plans for themselves and their families this weekend. September is National Preparedness Month, which is part of a nationwide effort to help citizens be prepared in case of a disaster or emergency.

The Lt. Governor will be featured on the Husker Sports Radio Network at 6:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 22 highlighting steps families and individuals can take to plan ahead for emergencies.

In addition, staff and volunteers with the Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission (NVSC) and local Citizen Corps Councils will be at Memorial Stadium, the Husker Nation Pavilion and the Coliseum during Saturday’s football and volleyball games to share information with Husker fans about emergency preparedness.
